Adrenochrome, an oxidation product of adrenaline, is stabilized by binding to monosemicarbazone (adrenochrome monosemicarbazide).

Adrenochrome Monosemicarabzone is chiefly used to control bleeding from small blood vessels and belongs to the class of hemostatic agents.

It works by stimulating the alpha-adrenergic receptors on blood vessels, which makes the smooth muscles contract. This causes small arterioles and capillaries to narrow, reducing blood flow.
